Why I might need to
refer to the VIN number?
The VIN or Vehicle Identification Number
contains a code that includes vital information on your particular car. It may
be necessary to review this code to assure that you get the correct
transmission or engine as well as ECU computer or other component. You can
find this number on the title or on a riveted tag on the dash near the
defroster vent in front of the driver. We may also need the date of
manufacture. It usually is in the upper right corner of the tag on the driver
door jam.

Which side is the left

What does interchange mean?
Our entire inventory is on computer with an
interchange program built in. Interchange assists the countermen in supplying
you with accurate parts when the identical vehicle is not available in our
yard. For example a starter from a 2000 Ford focus (auto 2.0L) can be
replaced any starter from the years 2000-2004.

What is your conditional
Warranty/Guarantee
All
purchases are guaranteed for a
period of 90 days from invoice date, unless otherwise stated. Any defects in
your purchase will be dealt with on a “replacement/repair or refund basis” to
a maximum of the purchase price. We do not assume responsibility for damages,
labour costs incurred, or any expenses such as towing, emergency road
services, lodging or related expenses – directly or indirectly at an time
during or after installation of any or all parts sold.
Returned
Parts must be accompanied by
original sales receipt and returned within 5 days. Returned parts are subject

parts, including body sections cut to customer specifications. Any freight
charges paid will be deducted from your refund.
Deposits
are accepted however, failure to
purchase item(s) on hold within 30 days will result in the loss of deposit.
Engines
are guaranteed to be in good operating condition with reasonable limits of
specifications ie: oil pressure, compression and oil consumption. While in
most cases we sell our engines complete, all we are charging for, and all the
customer is paying for is the Block Assembly with head(s). We leave engine
accessories such as water pump, fuel pump, distributor, carburetor, fuel
injection pump, vacuum pump, and/or exhaust manifolds attached for your
convenience & to make your installation easier. Unless otherwise stated in
writing these parts are NOT covered in our conditional warrant.
Differentials
should be installed with new axle seals. Any brake parts left
on the assembly are for the customer’s convenience and are not covered under
our warranty.
Automatic
Transmissions should be installed
with new front & rear oil seals. Please note that transmission
failure, due to improper installation including failure to replace the oil
seals VOIDS the warranty.

How do you remember
all the salvage in your yard?
Unlike the “old” days when countermen had to
remember their stock, our business has had computerized inventory for over 10
years. When salvage comes into our business for processing, the first step is
to inventory the entire car’s “Good” re-useable parts from the top to the
bottom, and everything in between, including the ownership manual. All of our
stock in inventoried and pre-priced for our countermen

How is salvage processed?
When salvage comes into our business for
processing, the first step is to inventory the entire car’s “Good” re-useable
parts from the top to the bottom, and everything in between, including the
ownership manual. All of our stock is inventoried and pre-priced for our
countermen. Once a vehicle is inventoried into the system the car is moved to
the dismantling area where our dismantlers strip the car of all
environmental contaminants and
pre-determined auto parts for warehouse storage. Our parts dismantlers’ test
every part before it can be sold to our customers. The car body is then moved
into the yard where it will remain until such time as designated “Scrap”. Any
remaining inventory on the car body will be deleted from our computer and
moved to our “crush pile.” Eventually, usually in July our “crush pile” is
sold to a scrap business for further recycling.

What kind of factors affect auto recycling, and how does my purchase help the
environment?
Like
most industrial business we are concerned with the way our business could
impact the environment. First and foremost is that we are very aware and
up-to-date with environmental regulations. 15 years ago at our location we
instituted “dismantling” under cover to help prevent any contaminated run off
caused by rain, and installed a waste oil separator to separate sludge, and
oil by containing it safely underground. We have to hire waste management
companies, to empty our oil separator and sludge annually to keep the system
running smoothly. All Fluids – Antifreeze, Gasoline, oil (engine,
transmission, differentials, and transfer case), brake fluids, windshield
washer fluid, is drained and stored above ground in individual drums, varying
in size from 45 to 250 Gallon tanks and disposed of properly as needed. All
Vehicles with “Air Conditioning” are inspected by a sub contractor for
confirmation of the presence of freon, If an a/c unit is full of freon it will
be evacuated from the car as part of the dismantling process. All mercury
switches are removed from under the hood, and sent to the “Clean
Air Foundation, Mercury Switch out program.”
Tire weights are removed and sold to a local scrap dealer. Bald “Un-sellable”
tires are stored in a designated area, and disposed of through a “tire
recycling company” on a semi annual basis. As you can see by reading there
are a lot of costs involved in doing our part to keep the contaminants out of
the environment. If a car body is not dismantled correctly just imagine what
could enter the local streams, water sheds etc… CONGRATULATIONS!! Buy
purchasing used auto parts not only as a customer you are saving money, you
too are helping the environment.
